This 3 days safari begins and ends from Kigali. This is designed for people who do not want to drive long distances but would love to track gorillas in Uganda or probably you only want to see the mountain gorillas. You will cross the border of Uganda and Rwanda on your way to the gorillas and back where you will get to experience 2 countries in a few days on a single trip. From the gorilla land, you will then drive to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation. Whether you have a meeting or attending a conference in Rwanda, this is suitable for your short day offs.
Itinerary
Day 01 :
Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi (Uganda)
- Pick up from Kigali (airport or hotel)
- Scenic 4-hour drive through the rolling hills of Rwanda & Uganda
- Stops for photos and lunch along the way
- Evening: Relax, dinner, and overnight at Bweza Gorilla Lodge
Day 02 :
Gorilla Trekking + Lake Bunyonyi
- Morning: Breakfast, pack lunch, then report to park offices for briefing & group assignment
- Gorilla trek through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (2–6 hours)
- 1 hour with the gorilla family – viewing & photography
- Afternoon: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation
- Overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort
Day 03 :
Lake Bunyonyi Tour & Return to Kigali
- Morning: Boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi – visit different islands
- Time permitting: Hike to the top for panoramic views & photos
- Lunch, then transfer back to Kigali
- Drop off at Kigali airport or your hotel
