Itinerary
Day 01 :
Transfer from Kigali to Kibale National Park Uganda
- Pick up from your hotel in Kigali + briefing from your guide
- Drive to Uganda via Katuna border
- Enjoy scenic rolling hills in both Rwanda and Uganda
- Lunch along the way. Continue to Kibale National Park
- Overnight: Bweza Kibale Lodge
Day 02 :
Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Community Tour
- Morning: Breakfast, packed lunch, then drive to briefing point
- Register & attend briefing before heading into the forest
- Chimpanzee tracking through the forest (following tracks, learning about their lives)
- 1 hour with the chimpanzees – photo opportunity & observation
- Afternoon: Bigodi Community Tour
- Interact with local families
- Learn about coffee processing, banana gin, craft making from natural materials
- Time permitting: Visit Bigodi Swamp – spot birds (great blue turaco) and monkeys (red-tailed, black & white colobus)
- Return to lodge for dinner & overnight
- Overnight: Bweza Kibale Lodge
Day 03 :
Drive from Kibale to Bwindi
- Breakfast, then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
- Beautiful landscapes along the way; lunch en route
- Afternoon arrival – check in at the lodge and relax
- Optional: Community walk to visit the Batwa (Pygmies) – the original forest dwellers evicted for conservation
- Overnight: Icumbi Lodge
Day 04 :
Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
- Breakfast, then drive to park offices for registration & briefing
- Assigned to a group (max 8 people) with a ranger guide
- Gorilla trekking through the forest (3–6 hours, depending on gorillas' location from previous day)
- 1 hour with the mountain gorillas – viewing & photography
- Return to lodge for relaxation
- Overnight: Icumbi Lodge
Day 05 :
Transfer Back to Kigali
- Breakfast at the lodge
- Transfer to Kigali (depending on your flight time)
- Time permitting: Kigali city tour including:
- Kigali Genocide Memorial
- A local market
- Drop off at Kigali airport or your hotel
