This short budget safari takes you through Queen Elizabeth national park for wildlife viewing and chimps in the Kyambura gorge the valley of apes. Through the beautiful hills designed with green banana plantations and green tea plantations we descend to Queen Elizabeth national park ready for our wildlife experience with great encounters of animals like lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, warthogs and waterbucks among others. We shall then head for our chimps experience in the scenic Kyambura Gorge and more scenic features around the park.
Itinerary
Day 01 :
Transfer from Kampala to queen Elizabeth National Park
- Early breakfast, then pick up from hotel/residence + safari briefing
- 6-hour journey to Queen Elizabeth NP
- First stop: Equator for photo moments
- Continue west through Mbarara – lunch stop
- Scenic drive through open grasslands, tea plantations, forests
- Late afternoon arrival – game drive en route to the lodge
- Check in, then evening game drive through Kasenyi Plains or Mweya Peninsula
- Return to lodge for dinner & overnight
- Overnight: Kazinga Wilderness Camp
Day 02 :
Game drive and afternoon boat cruise
- Early breakfast, then early morning game drive (2–3 hours)
- Best chance for early grazers & big cats (active early morning & late evening)
- Look for: leopards, lions, buffalos, elephants, waterbucks
- Return to lodge for lunch
- Afternoon: 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel
- See hippos, crocodiles
- Herds of elephants & buffalos coming to drink/bathe
- Optional after boat: Visit crater lakes for sunset views
- Return to lodge for dinner & overnight
- Overnight: Kazinga Wilderness Camp
Day 03 :
Chimp tracking and crater lakes
- Breakfast, then drive to Kyambura Gorge
- Briefing with park ranger guide
- Chimpanzee tracking in the gorge
- 1 hour with the chimps – observe behaviors & take photos
- Return to lodge for hot lunch
- Late afternoon: Walk or drive to the crater lakes
- Return to lodge for dinner & overnight
- Overnight: Kazinga Wilderness Camp
Day 04 :
Transfer to Kampala.
- Breakfast, then drive back to Kampala
- Scenic drive through beautiful landscapes
- Optional stop: Equator for lunch & souvenir shopping
- Proceed to Kampala
