This 13 days safari take you to Uganda’s most sought destinations from the largest to the smallest savanna parks and to Uganda’s best primate parks. This safari is designed for the safari lovers and has been designed with great passion for the wild.
Itinerary
Day 01 :
Transfer to Murchison Falls national park
- Pick up from hotel/airport in Entebbe
- Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – rhino trekking (1–2 hours)
- Lunch en route, then proceed to Murchison Falls NP
- Visit the Top of the Falls
- Dinner & overnight at Fort Murchison Lodge
Day 02 :
game drive and boat cruise
- Early morning game drive (3–4 hours)
- Look for: lions, leopards, giraffes, buffalos, kobs, other antelopes
- Boat cruise along the Nile River
- See hippos, crocodiles, several bird species
- View the waterfalls from a different angle
- Short evening game drive on return to lodge
- Overnight: Fort Murchison Lodge
Day 03 :
full day game drives
- Morning game drive through different tracks – extensive wildlife viewing
- Lunch in the park
- Early or late afternoon game drive until evening
- Return to lodge for dinner & overnight
- Overnight: Fort Murchison Lodge
Day 04 :
drive to Kibale national park
- Breakfast, then drive to Kibale National Park via Bulisa district
- See the Great Rift Valley escarpments along Lake Albert
- Scenic landscapes – tea plantations towards Fort Portal city
- Lunch en route
- Overnight: Chimpanzee Forest Lodge
Day 05 :
Chimp tracking and community walk
- Morning: Drive to park for registration & briefing
- Chimpanzee tracking through the forest
- 1 hour with the chimpanzees – photos & learning
- Lunch, then afternoon Bigodi community tour
- Visit families demonstrating local activities
- Return to lodge for dinner & overnight
- Overnight: Chimpanzee Forest Lodge
Day 06 :
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
- Breakfast, then drive through beautiful hills with crater lake views
- Early afternoon arrival – check in, lunch
- Afternoon: 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel
- See hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalos coming to drink/cool off
- After boat cruise: Evening game drive
- Look for: lions, leopards, kobs, buffalos
- Overnight: Bush Lodge
Day 07 :
game drives
- Morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains
- Search for: lions, leopards, buffalos, elephants, antelopes
- Return to lodge for lunch & afternoon relaxation
- Evening game drive – explore different game tracks
- Overnight: Bush Lodge
Day 08 :
transfer to Ishasha
- Breakfast, then drive to the Ishasha sector (southern Queen Elizabeth NP)
- Game drive en route through the park
- Afternoon arrival – lunch, then late afternoon game drive
- Primary target: Tree-climbing lions (often spotted on fig trees)
- Also look for: topis and other animals not seen in previous parks
- Overnight: Embogo Lodge
Day 09 :
early morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi
- Early morning game drive – search for hyenas, leopards, and more
- After game drive, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
- Relaxed evening at the lodge – prepare for gorilla trekking
- Overnight: Haven Lodge
Day 10 :
Gorilla Trekking
- Early breakfast – packed lunch provided
- Arrive at briefing point by 7:30 AM (briefing begins at 8:00 AM)
- Assigned to a ranger guide and small group
- Gorilla trekking through the Impenetrable Forest (4+ hours)
- 1 hour with the mountain gorillas – photography & observation
- Hike back to ranger station – receive Gorilla Trekking certificate
- Return to lodge for relaxation, dinner & overnight
- Overnight: Haven Lodge
Day 11 :
drive to Lake Mutanda
- Relaxed day at the lake with great views of the Virunga Mountains
- Drive to Lake Mutanda Resort
- Afternoon arrival – lunch, then relaxed afternoon at the lakeside lodge
- Overnight: Lake Mutanda Resort
Day 12 :
transfer to Lake Mburo national park
- Breakfast, then drive to Lake Mburo National Park through the mountains of Kisoro (one of Uganda's most beautiful regions)
- Afternoon arrival – check in
- Evening game drive through Uganda's smallest but most beautiful savanna park
- Overnight: Rwakobo Rock
Day 13 :
Guided Nature Walk and Drive to Entebbe
- Drive to the park – meet your ranger guide
- Guided nature walk – walk close to wildlife:
- Giraffes, zebras, impalas, other antelopes
- After the walk, drive back to Entebbe
- Stop at the Uganda Equator for lunch & photo break
- Continue to Entebbe for your flight or to your lodge
