7 days Rwanda safari
These 7 days in Rwanda will take you through the primate life of Rwanda. Go down to volcanoes national park for gorillas and golden monkeys, after which you will travel to Nyungwe forest national park for chimpanzee trekking and you will wind up with the city tour in Kigali city.
Day 1: transfer to volcanoes national park
On arrival at the airport or from your hotel in Kigali, your guide will pick you up and drive you to volcanoes national park where you will have lunch from your hotel. After lunch you will check in at the hotel and later visit the Diane Fossey museum which is close to the hotel.

Day 2: gorilla tracking
Wake up to your served breakfast and after you will be handed your packed lunch from the lodge. Your guide will drive you to the park offices for the registration and briefing after which you will be assigned a group and a ranger guide to take you through the experience. The activity normally takes between 2 to 6 hours of trekking where you will be assigned 1 hour of viewing and photographing these animals after you find them. After the trek, you will drive back to the hotel for relaxation as you prepare for the next day.

Day 3: golden monkey tracking
After your breakfast in the morning, you will again drive to the park offices for registration and briefing. After the briefing you will once again be assigned a group and a ranger guide who will take you through the trek in the forest. On reaching the golden monkeys, you will be given 1 hour of viewing and taking photos. After the trek, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch. You can visit gorilla guardians’ village. Return to the lodge for dinner relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 4: drive to Nyungwe forest national park
After an early breakfast, we will drive south in our comfortable 4×4 safari Jeep through rolling Rwandan hills with scenic and beautiful landscapes. We will take lunch along the way or at the lodge depending on the travel time. Dinner and overnight at a lodge near the park.

Day 5: chimp trekking
After breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for registration and briefing after which you will embark on your chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe Forest. On your trek to the chimps, you may spot other primates such as the Lhotse’s monkey and the grey-cheeked Mangabey. The birds in this tropical forest are also spectacular however you may enjoy more of their sounds than seeing them. When you spot the chimp community, you will have an hour of viewing and photographing these apes before you walk back to the office. You will have an opportunity to relax over lunch, and then start a canopy walk in the afternoon. The canopy walk is a guided tour starting from the Uwinka Visitors center in Nyungwe Forest with a 30 minutes’ or more walk via the Igishigishi Trail. The trail begins with a steep slope, but the views atop the canopy make it worth it! On a clear day, you can see Lake Kivu and and good forest view.

Day 6: drive back to Kigali
After breakfast, you will drive to Nyanza for a visit to the king’s palace/museum where you will have a tour before proceeding to Kigali. On arrival in Kigali, you will have a relaxation at the lodge.

Day 7: city tour and transfer to the airport
After your lazy and relaxed breakfast, you will go to Kigali city for a city tour which will take you to the Kigali genocide memorial, local markets and local restaurants. You will later be driven to the airport for your flight back home.
