5 days Uganda chimps and gorillas from Kigali
These 5 days will give you a primate experience in Uganda’s 2 most popular primate parks that is Kibale forest national park for chimps and Bwindi impenetrable forest national park for gorillas. The tour starts and ends from Kigali
Day 1: transfer to Kibale national park
You will be picked up from your hotel and then given a briefing by one of our guides. You will then start your journey to Uganda via the katuna border. On your way, you will enjoy the beauty of the rolling hills in both countries. You will have lunch along the way and then continue on your way to kibale national park

Day 2: chimp tracking and bigodi community tour
After your breakfast, your guide will drive you together with packed lunch to the briefing point. You will arrive in time to register and attend a briefing about the whole activity after which you will head to the forest. Tracking chimpanzees in their natural habitat while trekking through the forest following their tracks and learning more about their lives, you will then be awarded one hour with the chimpanzee and this will be your opportunity to take photos, learn and get to know more about these apes. In the afternoon, explore the Bigodi community where you will have a chance to interact with different people and families while you learn about their day to day activities such as local coffee processing, banana gin, craft making from natural raw materials and many other activities. In case there is still time you will visit the bigodi swamp which is famous for many birds such as the great blue turaco, monkeys like red tailed monkey, black and white Columbus monkey and others. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: drive to Bwindi
After breakfast in the morning, you will drive to Bwindi forest national park through the beautiful landscapes along the way. Lunch enroute and proceed to Bwindi where you will reach in the afternoon to check in at the lodge and relax. You can opt to go for a community walk where you will be able to visit the Batwa (pygmies) who used to live in the forest before they were evicted due to conservation reasons.

Day 4: gorilla tracking
After breakfast your guide will take you to the park offices for briefing and registration. After briefing you will be allocated a group of maximum 8 people and a ranger guide will be assigned to the group. The ranger will then take you through the experience in the forest where you will be able to learn more about the gorillas. The activity takes about 3 to 6 hours depending on the last point the gorillas were spotted from the previous day. After you get to these great apes, you will be allowed 1 hour of taking photos and viewing. You will then return to the lodge for relaxation:

Day 5: transfer to Kigali
Breakfast in the morning and later transfer to Kigali depending on your flight time, you will have a city tour where you will visit the Kigali genocide memorial, a local market and then later be dropped at the airport or at the hotel.
