7 DAYS GORILLAS AND WILDLIFE SAFARI

This 7 days wildlife and gorilla safari takes you 3 among the 10 national parks in Uganda. This will take you to Queen Elizabeth national park in exploration of all the sectors that is to say the northern and the southern sectors. Majorly the savanna park gives you a chance to spot various animals such as elephants, leopards, lions, buffalos and kobs among others before you proceed to Bwindi national park for your ultimate gorilla experience. You will then wind your safari up with Lake Mburo national park the smallest savanna national park in Uganda where you will have a chance to see zebras, implas, bushbucks, waterbucks, giraffes and other animals.

Detailed itenery

Day 1: Kampala - Queen Elizabeth National Park

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel after breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will have a stopover at the equator for photo moments or a small break and then drive towards Mbarara where you will have a lunch break. You will later proceed to the park through stunning valleys with great views of the tea and banana plantations that create great scenery along the road. You will arrive in the evening to check in at the lodge. You may opt to do an evening game drive depending on the arrival time. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 2: Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early morning breakfast, Head out for a morning game drive in the northern sector of the park which takes about 2 to 3 hours. Your guide will take you on game drive in either Kasenyi plains or Mweya peninsula in search of early grazers like the big cats such as lions and leopards. On the drive you as well expect to see other animals like elephants, kobs, waterbucks, buffalos and many birds among others.

Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for a Launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel. The Channel is home to one of the greatest concentration of hippos in Africa and you may have a chance to see as many schools as possible along the channel. You may also have a chance to see the nile crocodiles along the channel. Sometimes Herds of elephants, buffalos and other animals come to drink at the water’s edge or take a bathe to cool down the hot temperatures from the afternoon scorching sun. The channel is a magnet for water birds, with great flocks of pelicans and others birds such as kingfishers, bee eaters, hammerkop and many others.  After the two hours channel experience cruise return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: transfer to Ishasha sector

After breakfast, proceed to the Ishasha sector for yet another fun filled adventure in the wild. Along the way, you will be able to spot many birds and animals in the park before you reach at the lodge to check in, have lunch and prepare for an afternoon game drive in the famous ishasha plains. You will go on the search for the tree climbing lions which can easily be spotted on the fig trees. While you search for the lions, you may come across other animals such as elephants, topis, kobs, hyenas and buffalos among others. You will later drive back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: transfer to bwindi

After your served breakfast in the morning, you will drive through kanungu heading to bwindi. The drive may take 4 to 5 hours depending on the sector of the park that you will be tracking from. You will reach at the lodge in time to have lunch. After lunch you may decide to rest at the lodge or do any optional activities as recommended by your guide. Retire at the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking

After an early breakfast, you set off to the park for your gorilla tracking activity along with your packed lunch. You will drive to the park offices ready for briefing with the rest of the guests where you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts of the whole activity you will begin your trek with a ranger guide who will then be in charge of the rest of the activity and he will be telling you all you need to know before and after you see the gorillas. For one hour you are allowed to watch and learn about these majestic giants in their home. You will then rest at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: transfer to Lake Mburo national park

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Mburo national park for more sightings most of which you will have not seen from the rest of the destinations. You will have lunch along the way or at the lodge before you head out for an afternoon game drive or evening guided walk on the search for zebras, impalas, topis, elands, giraffes, and bushbucks. Depending on the luck of the day, you may spot leopards in the evening while heading back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: transfer to Kampala/ Entebbe.

After an early morning breakfast, drive through the park for a morning game drive before you exit the park. The morning game drive will take a short period of time as you search for early grazers and later exit the park through nshara gate. The journey back to Kampala then begins with lunch enroute at the equator or in masaka depending on the time arrangement. Reach Kampala/ Entebbe in the late afternoon or earlier depending on your flight time.
